Highway Engineering Associate I - 4666

RS&H is seeking a Civil Engineering Associate for our Transportation practice in St. Charles, Chicago, or Springfield, IL.

We are looking for a civil engineer with the desire to work on a range of various highway and transportation projects. We are looking for resourceful and innovative engineers that enjoy working in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities:

• Assist a team of highway engineers with the design of roadway corridors, intersections, and interchanges. This includes roadway geometrics, alternatives analysis, alignment studies, roadside safety evaluations, and crash and safety reporting.
• Prepare designs, plans, specifications, quantity takeoffs, and cost estimates under the direction of an experienced engineer
• Gather and provide data for the preparation of engineering reports and studies
• Perform design calculations and develop design documentation
• Develop materials and exhibits for public involvement

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited program or equivalent combination of education and experience

• Basic knowledge of production software

• Solid oral and written communications skills

• Ability to effectively interact with and build relationships with others

Preferred Qualifications:

• Engineer in Training (EIT) licensure
